The law in Michigan has changed in 2017!  Nurse Practitioners now have autonomy in practice and no longer need a collaborative agreement or a supervising physician listed on their prescriptions.  So on April 9th the law was enacted and I started my journey to having my own practice.  I see my first patient this week.

For prescriptions no physician is needed under certain circumstances, but what about for practice? According to the AANP we are still a restricted state. You still need a collaborating physician for practice, right?

Controlled substance co sign makes us restricted State. No collaborative agreement needed per state but still for Medicare in skilled ECF and hospice admissions and DME (federal level). DME has been in committee for years.
