SYMPTOMATIC TREATMENT FOR COLDS, SINUSES, EARACHES, SORE THROAT, VIRUSES PREVENTION:
Drink at least two quarts of water daily.
Perform frequent hand washing.
Avoid cigarette smoke and other allergens.
Breathe fresh air, avoid drafts.
Do deep breathing exercises to increase circulation to nasal passages and lungs.
Use paper cups in bathrooms.
Replace toothbrushes or put through dishwasher.

 

     TREATMENT
At onset of symptoms put feet in hot water for 20 minutes, then in place in cold water, dry and keep covered in socks.

Keep regular sleep schedule.  Take naps as needed.  Sleep in plenty of fresh air but avoid drafts.  Eat sparingly at the usual meal times. Avoid sugar as it decreases the immune response and increases number of viruses.
Avoid fat as it also decreases the immune response and WBC activity.  Take Vitamins A, C, and D.  With fever, sweating & nasal discharge increase fluid intake above 2 quarts.
Avoid Caffeine as it reduces blood flow to nasal passages and throat.  Keep hands, feet, neck and ears warm.
Keep bowel movements regulated, avoid constipation.
SORE THROAT:·        Gargle with hot water. ·  Place hot compress to throat or chest.

EARACHE: 
Gargle with hot water.
Position heat from a lamp, hot water bottle or heating pad for one half hour to reduce pain.
A hot foot bath will also relieve ear pain.

NASAL CONGESTION
Diphenhydramine is a safe antihistamine unless you have glaucoma (high eye pressure.
HEADACHE·       
Keep hydrated. ·        Perform hot foot bath.

MOUTH ULCERS
Dissolve charcoal in mouth.

COUGH: 
Drink large amounts of water.
Steam treatments and showers.
Teas:  mint, red clover, lemon grass; Mullein/slippery elm teas soothe & have some expectorant effects.
Dextromethorphan  is a strong safe cough suppresent.

Signs of toxicity require you to call your doctors include:
Severe pain
Persistent high fever
Extreme fatigue
Dizziness
Difficulty breathing
